The businnes managed to give the trademark " VALLI " (existing since 1859 and indicating high quality wine production) a production site: "LA TENUTA", an agricultural production.
The production system has stayed the same while centuries were passing by.
For generations wine has been produced here following a sort of ritual, which has been integrated by a sensible and innovating wine production method passionately carried out by the Polgrossi for a long time.
These innovative aspects are the reference point for all the efforts made by the young generation of the family always searching for higher quality standards for its wines.
In 1999 they started to refurbish their winery implementing technologically advanced devices, replacing the eldest wine production facilities, increasing the amount of trees from 5.000 to 7.000, and carrying out experimental research to improve the local wine sorts.
We, at the winery, take a particular care of our wines with technologically advanced equipment, how to preserve and improve the most prestigious ones.
This is the reason why our wines are so famous and emotion-related.
The hills surrounding Forlì's district have been devoted to growing wine from an historical point of view.
Thanks to its prestigious location, RAVALDINO IN MONTE, not far away from the hills overlooking PREDAPPIO, set at the foot of the ancient ROCCA DELLE CAMINATE, TENUTA VALLI stretches over more than 250 hectares of land.
These medium - high and mountain - high hills (about 300 m on the sea level) made of clay and limestone are characterised by a special micro-climate and sun exposition (southwards, south-eastwards).
All the agricultural products are only organically grown and can be classified as follows: corn, Lucerne, grazing lands for the purest Romagna's flocks at grass to be fed and specialized vineyards stretching over 25 hectares.
These fertile areas are the place where Sangiovese and other typical wines of the region, such as Albana, Trebbiano, Cagnina, Pagadebit, can express themselves at their best.
Recently a few internationally very well known wines (such as Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon etc.) have been grown achieving good results.
Everything is done in order to grant our wines the highest quality level and the most typical feature introducing special techniques, such as: optimisation of the unused space for bunches before they go dark, covering with turf, fertilizing through organic material and limited production for every plant.
