The company is situated at 300-350 metres above sea-level, comprising a vineyard of 66 hectares and 5 ha. of olive groves with about 2000 plants. Geographically the hills are on the west side of the Esino river, which is the area where the wine DOC "Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi" is produced.
The village of Poggio San Marcello is in the classic area of the Verdicchio terrain; Coste del Molino, Tralivio and Balciana are the names of the districts, where our vineyards of 100% Verdicchio vines are planted on steep, sloping terraces.
The primary purpose of our winery is to see the rise of a top quality Verdicchio by using a 100% cultivar Verdicchio in our vineyards and to emphasize the particular characteristics of this grape variety indigenous to the Marches.
To characterise our wines further, we have being selecting or rather cloning from our own old vineyards so as to obtain an even more subtle wine which whilst still maintaining its traditional taste has more aromatic nuances.
Nowadays, by using only the grapes picked in our own vineyards, we can offer you the following selection of wines:
"Classico" (Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi Classico DOC);
Carefully selected wine grapes and differently timed harvests give origin to "Tralivio" (Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi Classico Superiore DOC);
The late harvest and the small yield for each hectare are fundamental factors in the production of "Balciana" (Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi Classico Superiore DOC). This wine is the proud trademark of our company.
It is of extreme importance to run vineyards with due respect to the environment, considering that the degree of ripeness and the choice of wine grapes are the fundamental basis for a wine of high quality.
