Cosenza and Crotone

Description

The province of Cosenza is located between the Jonian Sea and the Tyrrhenian one; it represents a continuous oxymoron between mountain and sea: the Pollino mountains and the enchanting Tyrrhenin coast; the Sila massive and the Jonian coast with the Sibar plain.
The province of Crotone, indeed, overlooks the Jonian Sea and has an ancient magno-greek tradition: many philosophers, mathematicians and famous people lived here, such as Pythagoras, Milone, Philolaus and Alcmaeon. Seaside locations of Le Castelle (Isola di Capo Rizzuto) and Punta Alice (Cirò Marina) are also important.
Typical local specialties are the DOC Cirò wine and the bread from Cutro.
