Melizzano is located along the ending part of the Taburno massif.
Samnite village in origin (Melae), it was conquered by the Romans in 538 BC. Then became a Norman domain under Roberto, prince of Caserta. Moreover Melizzano framed many battles, as for example, that one against Alfonso D'Aragona and Renato D'Angiò.
It is a recommended touristic site due to its beautiful churches, the XVI century Palazzo Caracciolo and the excellent wines (Solopaca and Sannio DOC).
