Filicudi (Phoenicusa - the island of ferns) is located between the island of Alicudi (west) and Salina (east) and it is part of the town of Lipari. The coasts of Filicudi are made up of brown and red rock and are full of great cliffs such as "Faraglione La Canna" and "Scoglio della Fortuna". In Filicudi there are a lot of wonderful grottoes: the most amazing one is "Grotta del Bue Marino" (Seal). The highest point is Monte Fossa, a dormant volcano, and counts around 250 inhabitants, living in he three major villages, Filicudi Porto, Pecorini a Mare e Valdichiesa, linked by an asphalt road recently built.
In addition to the naturalistic beauties, the ruins of the Neolithic village located in Capo Graziano worth a visit.
